ICNA Joint Study Day April 2006
The ICNA joint study day programme planned for 25th April 2006 at the Pavilions of Harrogate represents an innovation for the Infection Control Nurses Association. For the first time, the Association will combine three separate study days into a single meeting with an accompanying exhibition.

The rationale behind this concept is partly in response to requests from exhibitors to combine the annual study day meetings of the Community Infection Control Nurses Network and the Paediatric Infection Control Nurses Group into a single meeting with a single exhibition, and partly in recognition of the need for an additional specific infection control study day aimed at the peri-operative environment. This new arrangement makes the exhibition more attractive to potential exhibitors with an increased number of delegates attending what would be effectively a single study day.

For community infection control practitioners, for paediatric infection control practitioners and for infection control professionals working in the peri-operative environment, combining into a single day the three distinct and individual programmes will add significantly to the networking opportunities. With the variety of topics over the three parallel sessions and a wider range of products on view in the exhibition this study day offers the opportunity for greater synergy across the whole field of infection prevention and control.

Delegates are invited to apply to attend one of the three specific study days: Community, Paediatric or Peri-operative. However, due to the nature of the individual programmes there will be staggered break times for coffee and exhibition viewing and accordingly, there may be opportunities for delegates to attend specific sessions in the other parallel programmes.

This joint study day represents an important part of the educational activity of ICNA in 2006 and we hope that you will be able to attend and take full advantage of the opportunity to improve your knowledge and inform your practice in infection prevention and control. We look forward to seeing you in Harrogate.
