Advisory Group on Hepatitis
Vacancies for 3 Committee Members The Advisory Group on Hepatitis (AGH) advises the Chief Medical Officers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on appropriate policies for the prevention and control of viral hepatitis in the community and in health care settings. AGH membership is made up of experts from a range of relevant medical specialties and disciplines and also includes a lay member. We are looking to appoint 3 new members.
The role All members have a collective responsibility for the operation of AGH. You will actively participate in reviewing scientific data and in producing or contributing to papers presented to the Group. You will also promote communication between AGH and other relevant committees and professional bodies.
The people You will have expertise in one of the following fields: � Consultant Virologist � Public Health, as a Consultant in Communicable Disease Control (CCDC), or Consultant in Public Health Medicine (CPHM) or as a Director of Public Health � Infection Control Nurse All members of AGH must have a proven record of achievement in their own field and be knowledgeable about, and experienced in, the area of viral hepatitis. They must have the ability to evaluate complex issues and weigh up conflicting opinions. They must present their views effectively in a clear and straightforward manner and be able to support effective discussion by engaging in informed debate with other members who may have differing views.
Time commitment, location and allowances The Group usually meets 3 times a year for half-day or full-day meetings at a central London venue. Additionally, some work may be required in ad-hoc subgroups. Although no fees are payable, travelling expenses and subsistence allowances will be paid. These appointments will be for periods of up to 3 years, in the first instance.
