NPHS for Wales releases Infection control guidelines for care homes
The NPHS have published comprehensive guidance for the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection in care homes.

The aim of this document is to provide a practical approach to the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection in, primarily care homes, however, the guidelines will also be relevant to a wide range of community healthcare providers.

The guidelines, produced by the NPHS All-Wales Health Protection Nurses Forum, are very comprehensive comprising of twenty-two evidence-based sections covering a broad range of issues.

NHS Scotland National HAI Prevalence Survey Report released

The National HAI Point Prevalence Survey, carried out by Health Protection Scotland, included every patient in every acute hospital in Scotland, and in a sample of community hospitals, recording the presence of all types of infections on the day of the survey.
