Hi all,
At present, we are looking at various ways to increase compliance with Hand Hygiene. We are looking at developing a screen saver for all PC"s in the hospital as a nice simple reminder to perform the ultimate task. A colleague remembers that some time ago, a screen saver that shows the six steps of how to perform hand hygiene was developed and in use in some hospitals. I have not seen it to date, but has anyone else? If so, and you have you any information about it, I would be very grateful. Also, if anyone is using a screen saver and finds it useful can they also get in touch with me.
Thank you in advance,
Tracy Doherty, Infection prevention and control nurse, Beaumont Hospital.

Hi I can remember Vernacare did one featuring their hand washing posters. It was very useful as it scrolled through the different scenarios with the words Now wash your hands etc. Many people asked me where I got it from- it was a CD so maybe they still have it available? In critical care in Portsmouth we have a computer in each bed space with a screen saver of hands being washed. We started to use these just before the clean your hands campaign and were wondering if the posters used in the campagn could be made into screen savers. Just think of the save in printing and postage. Fatma Neilson Infection COntrol Team Portsmouth. Portsmouth

We are looking at a screen saver that can be used as a teaching tool as well. It will be launched at the Conference so you could look out for it there if you are going. The company is called VIS-IT. Tel 01702 560 540.
