In order to reduce the number of hospital admissions during outbreaks of gastroenteritis we wish to establish if there are any current IV outreach teams in PCTs that prevent residents particularly from care homes coming in from symptomatic homes. This could prevent their admission, reduce bed pressures and prevent cross infection.
Is anyone aware of such teams? |

I know that Oxford has a very established IVT team - and some of the ambulatory cancer care services do too- Teams may or not be attached to a PCT but certainly do provide IVT in all types of healthcare settings. Some HIV specialist services do this also. Be also aware that many companies employ nurses for IVT for their specific products. Joan Cochrane Acting Programme Manager Northumbria University |
