Hello all,

I have recently come across portable footspas/baths which are used communally in special schools/day centres for children and adults with disabilities . The footspas are used for the purpose of aromatherapy and also sensory stimulation .

What advice would people consider regarding their communal use and cleaning between each person?

The groups using them are a well population, any one with diabetes or PVD would be advised against using footspas.

Some sources advice cleaning and disinfection with hypochlorite between users as suffient , while ensuring that people with non intact skin or fungal infections do not use them .

Another source advises that footspa/baths should be single client use only due to risk of dermatophyte/yeast infections.

What do people think?
