I've been reading the CMO's guidance documents on the forthcoming Flu Pandemic (not if but when), but what's clearly missing is specific infection control advice. The ICNA should be in a good position to give this advice so that it can be taken up in future editions. Nurses are going to be in the front lines, together with other HCWs and volunteers, and it is imperative that they follow evidence based instructions such as hand disinfection (will handgel be effective?), when to wear masks and for how long to keep them, and how to manage isolation etc.
May be Jean Lawrence can tell us if a team is already working on this.
