Could I get some indication of the thoughts on the use of hibiscrub for clients at home with MRSA. At present in our trust all mrsa clients who have any care input have to have hibiscrub in the house for HCWs use. This lends to issues as; how long does this need to go on for? and the issue of misuse and possible results of overuse. Advise please.

I tend to advise the use of alcohol hand gel by all practitioners- after all there could be more undiagnosed patients out there.

Hibiscrub is only used for decolonisation of patients when needed.
