Look at Universal precaution articles and also the Centre for Disease Control - Standard Principles for Infection Control - the health and safety Executive also have guidelines on protective clothing for healthcare workers and of course do not forget the 'epic Project guidelines' available on NICE web site If your looking at protective equipment in terms of wearing during decontamination of equipment look at NHS Estates document Infection Control and the Built Environment (2001)another useful resource the NHS decontamination education programme available on the department of health web site.
