Dear All,

are you using the NHS infection control online training programme? If so who is coordinating this within your trust? We have been told by our Strategic Health Authority that we have to start using it and it seems to fall to infection control nurses to implement it. Has this happened elsewhere?

Currently looking at this in our PCT - I am hoping to use it as a tool to reach more staff, possibly making it our mandatory IC training. It should leave more time to do targeted training in high-risk areas, so I feel quite positive towards it.

We have progressed with this, and are going to use this package as our mandatory IC training on a trial basis. This is with a view to also using the Health and Safety, Manual Handling and Fire e-learning programmes from the same company. I expected the IC training to be organised by me (in conjunction with our training and development dept) as it is me whose time will be freed up if this goes ahead.

Does anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable replying to a query with no name? If our name is not in the email address, should we not sign the message?

I used to work as an Infection Control Nurse in the UK until last January, I have since emigrated to Australia. I have looked at the new elearning mandatory training program and would love to be able to have such a resource to use. My current employers are looking into something similar, as it would greatly increase the numbers attending mandatory training.
