Hello all,

Has anyone ever looked at the infection risk associated with haemofiltration machines?

The risk associated with haemodialysis machines and blood borne viruses is well known however I can find nothing in the literature that suggests that heamofiltration machines should be treated the same. The only difference between haemodialysis and haemofiltration machines is an internal fluid pathway which can be disinfected with heat and a hypochlorite.

I would be grateful for any views on the subject

Many thanks
