Agenda for change grading

Our infection control team would like to know how other G and H grade infection control nurses have been graded. Ours grading is as follows

H Grade band 7
G grade band 8

If anyone has bandings above this we would appreciated a copy of your job description.

From discussions that I have had with NHS ICNs, many of them have been graded lower than this with H going onto 7 and G onto 6 - in some cases previous H have been put onto 6 as well!

Are they hospital or community?
if you search the forum archive with AfC, then you will find previous threads with bandings & grades. I was an H grade now a band 7 awaiting appeal. Single handed PCT ICN.

I'm a single handed PCT IC lead, was an I grade and got a band 7. Now redoing JD after appeal failed to secure higher banding.

Would anyone who got an 8 and is PCT based be willing to email me their JD please?

Thanks,

Shona.

Shona I find myself in a similar position but having to go down grievance route. Would be grateful for any advice you could give about persuading your manager to re write JD

I was an I grade in a univeristy teaching hospital and was graded at 7, then on appeal graded at 7 again! Managed a good size team and held the budget. As I moved to a community post decided not to follow grievnace route even though I was not pleased! I moved sideways to another I grade post as Senior Nurse to a band 8a.

Happy to forward JD if this helps.
