Some of our areas have industrial washing machines that are used for the processing of patients clothing. It has been brought to our attention that, on occasions, mop heads are also being processed in these machines. We are not comfortable with this but have been unable to find any supporting evidence as to why it might be poor practice practice.
We are asking:
Is this common practice? Are we being over sensitive? Does anyone have any supporting evidence either way? Any information would be much appreciated.
