I'm just in the process of reviewing this document to develop an action plan for the PCT's.
In Challenge 7, question 2, it asks if
"there is an appropriately trained decontamination lead within the organisation". I understand what 'appropriately trained' is for Acute Trusts with CSSD's, but can anyone advise how they would interpret this for PCT's where there is less expertise around. I just wonder if it's another job for us ICN's!!!
Thanks in anticipation

Hate to confirm your suspicion, Sue, but the last PCT that I worked for classed me as their decon. lead and put my name down as being the lead before I'd even started in post! As expected, they said that there was nobody else within the PCT who knew enough about decontamination (what a cop out!!)

I have the same problem in my PCT. I am the Decontamination lead as the DIPC is not IC trained and is also the Director of Integrated Care. However this may change when the project manager is appointed for decontamination. If this goes ahead then we can justifiably say we have a suitable person for decontamination.
