I have been ask by a community Midwife about the safest way to transport a newly obtained guthrie test.
The blood on the test card must be allowed to dry 30 minutes before it is placed into it's sleeve for laboratory transportation, however, does this mean hanging around in the client's home for 30 minutes until the blood dries? or can the midwife transport it undried - surely this is a High Risk area.
